In January 2016, STA Travel formed a global fundraising partnership with CanTeen Australia, CanTeen New Zealand, Teenage Cancer Trust UK and Teen Cancer America. It was the first time in the world that four teenage cancer trusts have been brought together to work on a global campaign, in partnership with a major youth travel company. The partnership engages staff and customers and aims to raise vital funds and awareness to support young people with cancer. In the first seven months of their partnership, STA Travel globally raised USD $90k. The funds will help the charities provide support services to young people and their families (such as education, workshops and counselling), purchase medical equipment within charity hospital wards and/or pay for nurses and counsellors.

Austern International is a student-run organisation designed for students. The organisation applies a strict control on quality by implementing a
learning system where the students not only experience the business environment of the firm, they also get
to contribute something meaningful and new to the business to help solve some of their problems.
This in turn brings value to both parties.
Tipi helps travellers check-in to their next hostel on their mobile – before they get on the plane.
Travellers can meet other guests staying at the same time, sign-up to hostel activities & skip the queue on arrival. Tipi was launched in March 2016 at Base & Nomads hostels in AU/NZ. Tipi makes check-in easier for travellers & more social and makes it easier for hostels to communicate with their guests – from booking, during their stay & after they leave.
