Best Social Responsibility Initiative

About the award

Youth, student and educational travel provides a strong vehicle to foster intercultural understanding, social interaction and harmony. The San Diego Declaration highlights the importance for the industry of ‘optimising the social, cultural, economic and environmental benefits to stakeholders in destinations’ through ‘promoting the principles of fair trade, inclusive economic development and protection of human rights for the economically poor and socially vulnerable’.

We are proud that WYSE Travel Confederation members and WYSTC delegates work hard to create life-changing travel opportunities for young people across the globe. But what about the social impact of their activities? The Global Youth Travel Award for Social Responsibility recognises organisations that give back to the local or global community through innovative social projects.
